Teaching at RSPB OLD Moor | Stu Brown Photography
I’m absolutely thrilled to be teaching at yet another fantastic RSPB reserve — RSPB Old Moor. It’s a real privilege to work in such a beautiful and ecologically significant location, especially one that draws in a wide variety of wildlife throughout the year. For anyone passionate about nature photography, Old Moor offers an incredible backdrop: from majestic marshland landscapes to close encounters with rare bird species.
The reserve’s commitment to conservation makes it a perfect place to learn about the delicate balance of habitats and wildlife. I’m especially excited to guide photographers in capturing the unique light, colours, and moods that define the reserve’s changing seasons. Whether it’s the brilliant early morning gold or the soft mist lingering over the pools, there’s always something magical to photograph.
Teaching at RSPB Old Moor means more than just improving camera skills — it’s about developing a deeper connection with nature. I look forward to sharing tips on composition, lighting, and patience, all while soaking in the atmosphere of this stunning reserve. For those joining the workshops, expect not only practical skills but also stories and insights about the reserve’s inhabitants, from elusive bitterns to graceful avocets.
I can’t wait to get out there and explore Old Moor with everyone, capturing moments that showcase the beauty and importance of our natural world. It’s going to be an inspiring experience, and I’m honoured to be part of it.
