Partnership Proposal

Partnership Summary (MPB & Stu Brown Photography)

✅ I recommend MPB as my go-to used gear retailer
✅ MPB gets visibility across my workshops, website, and printed materials
✅ MPB offers students a small perk (optional)
✅ High-intent beginners upgrading kit over 3–12 months

About Me

My name’s Stu Brown and I run beginner-friendly photography workshops and 1-to-1 tuition around the UK through Stu Brown Photography and Discovery Photography. I also run workshops in partnership with the RSPB, so a lot of what I do is based around outdoor photography, wildlife, and getting people out enjoying nature.

I’d love to explore the idea of working with MPB in a simple way, where MPB becomes the recommended place I send people to when they’re ready to upgrade or buy gear after one of my sessions.

A lot of the people who come on my workshops are complete beginners or fairly early on in their photography journey — they’ve either just bought a camera, got one for Christmas, or they’ve had one sat in a cupboard for ages and finally want to learn how to use it properly. Once they get their confidence up, most of them start looking at upgrading kit in the weeks/months afterwards.

That’s why I think it could be a really good fit with MPB, because these people are genuinely “high intent” and ready to spend, but they want to do it sensibly and get good value rather than buying random stuff off eBay.

Workshop Growth (UK Rollout)

My photography workshops are currently being rolled out gradually across the UK, with plans to expand them nationally over the coming year. Rather than offering one-off dates, my goal is to build a regular series of workshops at each venue, giving beginners and amateur photographers a consistent opportunity to learn, return, and continue improving. This also helps create ongoing footfall and repeat visitor engagement for partner venues, making the workshops a long-term collaboration rather than a single event.

Wellbeing Benefits

My workshops also offer real benefits beyond photography skills. Spending time outdoors, slowing down, and focusing on something creative can be incredibly positive for wellbeing. Many people tell me they leave feeling calmer, more confident, and refreshed after a day learning in nature, and the relaxed group setting also gives people a chance to enjoy social interaction and meet others with a shared interest. It’s a simple but powerful combination of learning, fresh air and connection that can make a big difference.

Audience reach

I promote my workshops through my websites, social media and venue partnerships, and I’m out regularly meeting photographers in person on workshop days too.

Audience profile

My audience is mainly:

  • beginner / amateur photographers

  • people learning camera basics (aperture, shutter speed, ISO, composition)

  • lots of people aged roughly 30–70+

  • UK based

  • many are starting to build up their kit properly after training

How MPB would be present in the partnership

If we worked together, I’d be happy to:
✅ recommend MPB as my go-to place for used gear
✅ include MPB links in follow-up emails after workshops (where people ask what to buy next)
✅ add MPB to my workshop pages as a “recommended dealer”
✅ include MPB in my printed workshop resource booklet (with a QR code/link - see example in gallery below)
✅ mention MPB on social media as the place I recommend for upgrades

I’m not expecting huge discounts or anything that affects margins, but even a small incentive for my workshop attendees (like a small voucher code, free delivery, trade-in bonus etc) would be a really nice added extra and would definitely push people toward MPB.
