    1. Who are your workshops suitable for?

    My workshops are designed for all levels – whether you’re a complete beginner wanting to get off auto mode, or an enthusiast looking to refine your skills

    2. Do I need a DSLR camera to join?

    Not at all. Any digital camera will work, including mirrorless and bridge cameras. If you’re unsure, get in touch and I’ll advise.

    3. What will I learn in a workshop?

    Each workshop is tailored, but you can expect to learn about camera settings, composition, lighting, and practical tips for shooting in real-world conditions. Some sessions are themed (e.g. wildlife, landscapes, portraits).

    4. How many people are in a group workshop?

    I keep groups small (usually 10 - 20 participants) so everyone gets plenty of one-to-one guidance. I also offer private tuition if you’d prefer a personalised session.

    5. How long is a workshop?

    Most workshops last a full day, depending on the topic. I also run short taster sessions and multi-day experiences.

    6. What should I bring with me?

    Bring your camera, spare batteries, memory cards, and any lenses you’d like to use. Comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and a notepad are also recommended.

    7. Where do your workshops take place?

    I run workshops at locations such as RSPB reserves, Yorkshire landscapes, and other scenic spots. The exact meeting point will be confirmed when you book.

    8. What happens if the weather is bad?

    Workshops usually go ahead unless the weather makes it unsafe. If conditions are extreme, I’ll reschedule or offer an alternative date.

    9. Do I need to bring lunch or refreshments?

    For full-day workshops, I recommend bringing a packed lunch. Tea, coffee, or snacks are sometimes provided depending on the venue.

    10. How do I book a place?

    Simply head to my group workshop page and choose the session that interests you. A deposit secures your spot.

    11. Can I buy a workshop as a gift?

    Yes! Gift vouchers are available and make a fantastic present for photography enthusiasts.

    12. Will I get feedback on my photos?

    Definitely – I’ll give you constructive, practical feedback during and after the workshop so you can continue improving. I also have a specific Student group on Facebook too ( you’ll receive the link once you are a student)
